Backer Springfield's compressor heaters and crankcase heaters are designed based on the NMH heaters.
These heaters are constructed with a metal sheath enclosure made of various materials including aluminum or stainless steel.
The end seals supplied will be per the customer specification in the application and include the proper lead wire type, insulation, length, and terminated as needed or provided with stripped ends for installation.
On the inside of the metal housing is our extruded heat cable insullated with either PVC, silicone, or fiberglass jacket material. The heat cable provides for a maximum wattage limited to 50 watts per foot in the design.
This heater is optimal for low wattage applications or a flamable refrigerant application where a flexible low cost design is required. The operating temperature of this design is well below the flash point of most refrigerants at approximately 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Our design here similar to the NMH heaters provides for greater dielectric strength as well as safety in the construction of the element.
